For the second edition of the "We walk in Sardinia" event, the aim is to further improve what was done in the first. It will touch 72 municipalities, for a total journey of about 1000 kilometers which will be crossed on foot by 500 people: it will be held from 2 to 7 October, with the help of tourist guides and fifteen routes divided between eight pilgrimage destinations and seven paths.

"People arriving from outside will be able to verify the beauty of this island, with a millenary history and unique identity of its kind", the presentation by the regional councilor for Tourism, Gianni Chessa. For his part also an announcement on the overall numbers of presences in Sardinia: «The data for these first six months, updated to yesterday, are the highest ever. We beat 2019, which had been a record year, for arrivals at ports and airports. And religious tourism is also part of this great tourist offer, because small numbers combined with other small numbers make large numbers: Sardinia has the largest number of identity and religious festivals in all of Italy. We need to lengthen the season, that's what they ask us and slow and religious tourism is one of the greatest opportunities we have».

The event, commissioned by the Region with the Sardinian Bishops' Conference, aims to enhance the Christian and identity paths traveled by pilgrims over the years, to also present at an international level a structured and usable proposal for slow and sustainable tourism that concerns paths, pilgrimage destinations and itineraries spiritual.
