Ten voices tell the story of violence, recognize its roots, and develop responses. Film shines a spotlight on lesbophobia and brings to Cagliari a conversation that combines testimonies, activism, and support tools.

On Tuesday, October 27, at 7:00 PM, at Exma, Via San Lucifero 71, the documentary "Lesbofòbia. Un documentary i deu respostes" will be the focus of the event that precedes the 24th edition of USN – Uno Sguardo Nuovo, Sardinia Queer Film Expo, the festival promoted by ARC and the ARCinema film club. The evening is organized by Lìberas in collaboration with ARC and EXMA, with the support and funding of EL*C.

What forms does violence against lesbians take? How is it addressed, and what tools can be used to counter it? These are the questions that permeate Inés Tarradellas' film, a Creación Positiva production made in Catalonia in 2019. In thirty minutes, ten testimonies form a narrative that interweaves experiences and reflections, also questioning the relationship between lesbophobia and other forms of discrimination.

Discussing the project with the audience will be director Inés Tarradellas, producer María Luisa García Berrocal, for Creación Positiva, and Ilaria Todde, head of Advocacy and Research for the EuroCentralAsian Lesbian Community network.

The discussion will continue after the screening and will also focus on local services, with the presentation of the LBT online help desk of Lìberas* and the anti-discrimination center "Ci siamo" of ARC. The documentary will be shown in the original version with Italian subtitles, with translation by Viviana Tomassetti. Admission is free, and interpretation into Italian Sign Language will be provided.

The event is part of the USN program, which promotes awareness of LGBTQIA+ experiences and the discussion of rights through cinema. Organized by ARC and ARCinema, a member of the Italian Federation of Film Clubs, the festival highlights independent productions and offers audiences works and perspectives that are often overlooked in film distribution.
