There is a Sardinian writer among the finalists of the Nadia Toffa Literary Journalism Prize: Carmen Salis , from Cagliari living in Capoterra , is among the five authors of the published books category who will go to Palermo on 3 December to take part in the final act of the competition. .

The award , organized by the Archetipa association with the patronage of the Order of Journalists of Sicily - named in memory of the journalist of the Hyenas who died in August 2019 - is dedicated to published, unpublished, journalistic investigative books and poems with particular attention to women's world.

Carmen Salis is competing with her “ Gianna, she was my sister ”, published by Amico Libro. The book recalls the most difficult years of the author's sister and the problems related to her mental health: a story that reveals all human frailties, and highlights how too often for society those suffering from mental problems are relegated to the margins.

"I wrote this book to remember Gianna - says Carmen Salis - but several years after her death I felt the duty to tell her story for all those people and their families who fight against prejudices related to mental illness".
