The Sardinian Church prepares to reach Rome . The trip , scheduled from 8 to 12 April for an "ad limina Apostolurum" visit , also includes a meeting with Pope Francis . The detail was developed by the Sardinian bishops in five days between meditations, prayer, analysis and planning for the coming months , during spiritual exercises, dictated by Monsignor Mario Meini, bishop emeritus of Fiesole. The program - organized by the Sardinian Episcopal Conference - includes a community meeting with Pope Francis , set for Monday 8th at 9am.

The main celebrations are scheduled for Tuesday 9 April at 7.15am, in St. Peter's Basilica; Wednesday 10th, at 6pm, in San Paolo Fuori Le Mura; Thursday 11 April at 7 in Santa Maria Maggiore and Friday 12 April, at 7.30, in the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano. On Wednesday 10 April, starting at 9am, the Bishops will participate in the general audience in the Vatican, to which Sardinians residing in Rome or who can get there, and the seminarians and educators of the regional seminary and minor seminaries have been invited.

During their stay in the Vatican, the Sardinian bishops will have meetings with the heads of the various dicasteries of the Holy See, to whom the situation in Sardinia relating to the various areas will be presented. The date of the regional synod day was also chosen, which has been in preparation for some time also in collaboration with a working group, which is scheduled for September 27th and until the morning of the 28th, at the Marina Beach hotel in Orosei. The general theme will concern the question of what the spiritual and pastoral priorities are in Sardinia. The same theme will be developed with specific themes and with synodal tables, which will involve lay people, priests, men and women religious and diocesan communities, in particular those who have diocesan and regional tasks.
