The Prosecutor of Cagliari has opened a file - at the moment against unknown persons - for instigating suicide , after the death in prison of Angelo Frigeri , who confessed to a triple homicide that took place in Tempio Pausania and was sentenced to life imprisonment , found lifeless in recent days in his cell at Uta Jail.
Frigieri had recently been transferred from Badu 'e Carros prison, apparently after being caught in possession of mobile phones.
The investigations into his death are conducted on a wide-ranging basis, with the investigators also examining the trail of possible connections with the investigation conducted by the DDA into Marco Raduano's escape from the Nuorese penitentiary , even if Frigeri has never been investigated for the daring escape of the boss of the Apulian mafia.
The man's family members have appointed the lawyer Giancarlo Frongia as their lawyer.
Meanwhile, the autopsy performed by the coroner Matteo Nioi established that Frigeri's death is compatible with death by hanging.
However, the Public Prosecutor's Office requested further histological and toxicological tests to clarify
any element of the prisoner's death. Results will come within 90 days.
