Renata Moraes Rios, the 44-year-old Brazilian psychologist found lifeless on Narbolia beach on Sunday, died of drowning. This is what emerged from the autopsy, carried out by the team of medical examiner Roberto Demontis: the woman ingested water and sand, then the waves and current brought her to shore where she was found at dawn on Sunday.

According to what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Operations Department in collaboration with colleagues from the Oristano Company and the Narbolia station, on Saturday the psychologist participated in a party in the kiosk of the campsite where she was staying: an evening together with the colleagues she was staying with following an international ecopsychology conference.

Around 2am Renata Moraes Rios went off alone to take a walk on the beach. Since then no one has seen or heard from her again. The hypothesis is that the woman, shortly after leaving her friends, took a bath orwas dragged by the waves, remaining at the mercy of a treacherous sea that left her no escape.
