"Respect the will of the Sardinians!" This was the cry that rose yesterday from Cagliari, during the large demonstration for the delivery to the regional council of over 210 thousand signatures in support of the proposed law Pratobello 24 against energy speculation in Sardinia.
A peaceful and colorful procession, attended by thousands of people, men, women, children and families, from all over the island.
The mayor of Orgosolo, Pasquale Mereu , leader of the promoters, was clear: «Pratobello 24 is the only proposal that stands up against the devastation of wind and photovoltaic energy, politicians should listen to us now».
However, the president of the regional council Piero Comandini declared that the proposal "will follow the ordinary procedure" and therefore there will be no urgent debate. Words that immediately triggered a political clash, with the opposition crying "betrayal of democracy".
