The Carabinieri of the Isili Company's Radiomobile have reported a twenty-three-year-old, newly licensed driver, responsible for repeated violations of the Highway Code.
In recent days, during a checkpoint on State Road 128, at kilometer 38, the military ordered a car to stop, but the young driver, instead of stopping, turned on his high beams to obstruct the view of the Carabinieri officers, and then made a sharp turn towards the town of Isili.
At that point, a chase ensued, with the young man's car beginning to perform dangerous maneuvers—overtaking, crossing into the opposite lane, and running stop signs—managing to disappear into the town's alleys.
However, the Carabinieri's investigations allowed them to trace the vehicle's owner and the identity of the driver, who was reported to the Judicial Authorities for fleeing the scene and dangerous driving.
In addition, the officers filed administrative charges related to the traffic violations committed, amounting to a total of nearly one thousand euros.
Following the investigation, the young man's license was stripped of 28 points in one fell swoop, with his license subsequently revoked. The 23-year-old also had weapons confiscated, which he was legally in possession of.
