Another blockage for the Tirrenia ship on the Genoa-Porto Torres route : the Moby Ale 2 ferry was stopped in the port of Ajaccio by the French authorities due to an alleged "bureaucratic and administrative problem".
It will remain in the port of the Corsican capital until new provisions. The Corsica port of call is part of the route chosen by the Onorato shipping company, but once again the ship operating for Moby, with around 600 passengers on board, was unable to reach the port of Porto Torres where the arrival had been scheduled for 10am today, June 26th. Inconvenience and protests from passengers who will be re-routed on the 3.30pm ferry between Bonifacio and Santa Teresa, with further delays for those who expected to reach the island as early as this morning.
In the meantime, the company has decided to cover the Porto Torres-Genoa route by making another ship available, the Moby Aki, which left empty this morning from the Ligurian port to reach the Turritano port from which it will leave this evening to guarantee the journey. The same critical issues had occurred in recent days, when the Moby ship was blocked on Sunday 9 and Tuesday 11 June due to technical problems. Despite the request also from Filt Cgil Sardegna on behalf of the secretary Arnaldo Boeddu, no measures were taken to ensure a solution was found.
Mayor Massimo Mulas also spoke on the case: «I reiterate my disappointment at the latest inconvenience caused by the disservices on the Genoa-Porto Torres maritime line to passengers arriving at the Turritan port. A repeated inefficiency for the resolution of which, despite our continuous requests, the competent subjects are not implementing the appropriate measures. We reiterate the need for this area to be able to count on an efficient passenger and goods transport service throughout the year. Otherwise it is complicated to be able to plan all the activities connected to the port".
