The port of Capitana is no longer enough. It must be enlarged. The project is there, the owner company also has a willingness to invest (it is Saromar Gestioni Srl), but the Ministry of Ecological Transition has decided that the redevelopment and expansion plan, presented in recent months, must go through the evaluation of environmental impact: a procedure that lengthens the time, but deemed necessary.

In the project, the infrastructure on the Quartu coast is defined as "saturated and now lacking in ancillary spaces on land". The objectives are: the construction of piers that embrace a wider stretch of sea, the construction of new squares on land also to encourage shipbuilding, the dredging of the seabed which over time has undergone a silting up phenomenon and the construction of the necessary volumes to host Club House and other services.

The ministry's environmental assessment commission continued the procedure and the decree was issued: the authorization cannot be issued only on the basis of the procedural findings, it is necessary to arrive at the Path, which will involve all the interested bodies.

In the provision of the dicastery we read that "the development plan Golfo degli Angeli" within which the port falls, "has exhausted the building potential established by regional legislation, and that the same development plan does not have residual building capacity". Furthermore, the State property maintains that "a formal request to extend the existing concession and also the completion of a specific preliminary investigation" is necessary.

Environmental issues are also included: the surveys on marine fauna would be too old. In addition, no alternatives have been proposed, as is customary in this type of planning. The project must go through (the) Way.
