Everything is ready for the great Oroseine Carnival. After weeks of intense preparations, the organizational machine set up by the municipal administration, led by the mayor Elisa Farris, did things in a big way thanks to the synergy with the Pro Loco Association, the Leva 94 and the tank drivers.

The long-awaited Baronie event, a point of reference in the area for fans of carnival traditions, will begin this afternoon, Saturday 10 February, and will continue throughout next week.

«A party full of fun and tradition, not only local but with international guests - announces the first citizen - This year too, to frame the usual route of the allegorical floats, there will be protagonists, on the occasion of the inaugural day, the Kukove ethnic masks from Rakovski, a Bulgarian city famous for its extraordinary Carnival which attracts tourists from all over Eastern Europe, and the Seuese ones from S'Urtzu and Sa Mamulada".

Today's program, full of initiatives and moments of aggregation and entertainment, will begin at 2 pm with the dressing of ethnic masks in Piazza del Popolo.

An hour later, at 3pm, the parade will start up to Sant'Antonio to the tune of their custom and at 4pm the allegorical floats prepared by the youth associations will also join the large procession.

There will be three hours of fun, dancing and sweet tasting until 7pm when the happy group will stop in Piazza del Popolo for a big collective party.

Monday 12th morning meeting starting at 10am, on the elementary school pitch, for the party dedicated to children, while the following day there will be space for the Shrove Tuesday procession starting at 3pm from Piazzale Macumba and arriving at 7pm in Via del Mare for a parade suggestive along the splendid Oroseino coast.

Saturday 17th great closing with piñata, traditional music, float parades and mask performances.

«In addition to the curiosity, already often expressed, of wanting to learn about other cultures different from ours - explains the mayor Farris - there is the need to preserve our identity: for this reason the last parade will end with Sardinian dancing in the square and sharing of a convivial moment accompanied by typical sweets offered by the municipal administration".
