The first emergency sterilization system in Sardinia has arrived at the San Martino hospital in Oristano . The new machines were inaugurated in the Oristano hospital and are included in a broader contract which concerns the sterilization service and the supply of surgical instruments in all hospitals on the island.

The sterilization point will be used in operating rooms in emergency situations, because the service in normal situations is outsourced to the "Demisterilis" headquarters in Santa Giusta , which was awarded this contract by all the Sardinian local health authorities.

«We made an open tender and awarded an overall contract, which includes the sterilization service and the rental supply of surgical instruments, which for its executive part will be managed by the individual local health companies», explains Tania Ruiu, sole manager of the procedure for Ares .

There is satisfaction in the operating block of San Martino: «Now we can also count on emergency sterilization, an additional guarantee of safety for patients and our operators », explains Dr. Olga Porcu , coordinator of the hospital's operating block of Oristano.
