The cold returns to the island: heavy rains and falling temperatures, then snow on the hills
The Azores anticyclone moves and gives way to the polar currents arriving from Russia
After a few days of sunshine and almost spring-like temperatures, the cold is back. In Italy and Sardinia arctic air, frost, rain, wind and snow.
The Azores anticyclone moves towards Sweden leaving room for the polar currents which from Russia begin to advance towards Italy , explains Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it.
Starting from Sunday 5 February, a drop in temperatures is expected, of 15 degrees at high altitudes and 10 in the plains .
Already in the evening, with the worsening weather, the first rains will arrive in Sardinia, sometimes even very intense . Bad weather that will continue for much of next week, with temperatures up to 10 degrees below the average for the period . And that, starting Monday, will bring snow back to the island. Even in the hills .
