«It was a beautiful and moving evening. With the presence, as godmother, of the Radio Rai presenter Pamela D'Amico , we greeted little Emilia by starting a path of support in the fight against type 1B glycogenosis . It will be a long and not easy road but thanks to the heart of Mandas and all of Sardinia I am convinced that this battle will be won." With these words, Mayor Umberto Oppus wanted to thank the entire community for making their closeness felt on the occasion of the event dedicated to little Emilia, affected by glycogen storage disease type B1, an autosomal metabolic disease with an incidence of 1 case per 100,000 inhabitants . On the island just over ten Sardinians are affected by this pathology.

On the occasion of the initiative, a fundraiser was activated to support the expenses that little Emilia's family will have to bear and the research necessary to find an adequate cure. The event, wanted by the municipal administration, featured the famous artist from Viale Mazzini who proposed a set list of great hits with immortal melodies and some masterpieces of Italian and Latin songwriting.

After the success of the prestigious Lawrence Prize events, the Mandase community wanted to make its closeness felt to the little girl's family. «Emilia is a gift, a special and unique gift for our entire community», said the parish priest Don Davide Pau.
