He felt ill while he was in the sea, at Poetto in Cagliari, and risked drowning. A thirty-five-year-old was saved this evening by the lifeguard on duty at the post at the fourth stop, in the stretch of free beach: at the sight of the man in great difficulty, the rescuer reached him, took him out of the water and began operations to resuscitate him.

The providential intervention, also with the collaboration of some employees of the Emerson kiosk, allowed the thirty-five year old to be delivered to the 118 emergency workers, who were immediately informed of what had happened, in a condition to recover.

He was immediately transferred to the hospital, in Brotzu, and assigned a red code.

The lifeguard is part of the Karalis Rescue non-profit organization which manages, on behalf of the Municipality, the sea rescue service in the free beach areas of Poetto (First stop, Fourth stop and Sixth stop) and in Cala Mosca.
