The Terramaini branch of the "Pietro Martini" technical and economic institute was closed due to rats.

With ordinance number 84/2026, the mayor of Cagliari ordered a temporary closure effective immediately and until September 28, unless extended.

The pest control operations have been scheduled by the Cagliari Metropolitan City Insect Control Center. The school will remain closed until September 28th, after which the results of the interventions and the necessary conditions for reopening will be verified.

Before classes resume , the affected areas must also be aired and cleaned.

"The actual date of resumption of lessons at the Terramaini site," the statement reads, "will be communicated in a subsequent notice, following the completion of the required checks."

Classes at the Via Ciusa location, however, will continue as usual.
