The Tempio Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a new investigation into Fabrizio Masala, a 52-year-old man from Olbia who was arrested on October 18 on charges of beating, threatening and chasing his ex-wife while carrying corrosive acid, alcohol and petrol in his car.
According to the new investigation, the alleged victim had received threats and night-time phone calls starting from the same day the arrest was validated.
The woman told the Carabinieri of Olbia and her lawyer, Cristina Cherchi, that she was forced to leave her home out of fear.
The message that is terrorizing the victim is this: "You shouldn't be so happy to hear that I'm out under house arrest, I'll see you soon. You won't receive any further communications."
Masala, defended by lawyers Marco Petitta and Alessandro Carta, has been under house arrest since October 21. According to the Prosecutor's Office and the Carabinieri, he chased his ex-girlfriend by car with the intent to harm her.
