The carabinieri of the Arzana anti-crime squadron discovered and seized over 1.2 tons of marijuana, which if placed on the drug dealing market could have yielded about one million euros.
The drug was found hidden in the dense vegetation in the countryside of Talana , in three different places. The military recovered a total of 34 200-liter plastic bins , containing the marijuana already packaged in vacuum-sealed bags ready for sale and 10 white nylon bags containing substance still to be packaged.
After the seizure, some samples were sent to the laboratory for analysis, while most of the drug was burned.
The investigations - the investigators explain - are now continuing to try to identify the criminal group that has cultivated and hidden the drug, waiting to start selling it.
