For those travelling along the 131 towards Cagliari, slaloming between potholes and dips in the stretch between Sardara and Serrenti , in the province of Medio Campidano, is the order of the day.
On that very stretch of the highway, Anas is planning " investments worth approximately 15 million euros in resurfacing the roads ," work "split into several sections, the first of which, between km 35 and km 40, is about to begin soon," the company says. In the meantime, to avoid damage to vehicles or simply jolting while driving, motorists, motorcyclists, and truck drivers are moving (if possible) directly into the overtaking lane, when it's not in worse condition, and local mayors are making sure to report any critical issues while they wait for the long-awaited construction work to begin on Sardinia's main road.
