Strong winds and storm surges, stop the ferries to and from Portovesme

Strong and increasing wind, impossible to continue with the ferry connections on the Carloforte - Portovesme line.

From the 11.20am departure from Carloforte, all maritime traffic is diverted to the Calasetta port of call , with the same timetables and the same ship.

Such strong mistral gusts weren't foreseen, but the very first races of the morning had to deal with wind and storm surges , weather and sea conditions which make crossing the San Pietro canal between Carloforte and Portovesme inadvisable.

Hence the decision to suspend the connection with Portovesme, starting from the 11.20 run, concentrating all the runs and ferries on Calasetta, waiting for conditions to improve.
