In Stintino, the tourist tax management service is being outsourced and the aim is to increase revenue, eliminating the hidden economy that still eludes controls. This was decided by the city council which, in its last session, discussed and approved the item on the agenda relating to the guidelines on the concession of the management service of the single property fee and the tourist tax.
The Municipality, through a public notice, intends to avail itself of external professional figures to be included within the work group of the Tax Office of the Authority so as to bring order among the registered accommodation facilities, on which the obligation to pay the tax applies. "Unfortunately, we have detected a significant percentage of hidden costs on the tourist tax, discovered thanks to the work of the offices", explains Mayor Rita Vallebella "therefore we need to resort to technology and, at the same time, to avail ourselves of external professionals who allow us to operate and cross-reference a series of data capable of highlighting the offending users. The service will last two years, during which we will proceed with a mapping of the various accommodation activities - B&Bs, rental homes and other types - so as to proceed at the end of this support with the right professional method to address the problem independently".
A system, as explained in the chamber by Deputy Mayor Pietro Maddau, to improve the efficiency of the Tax Office and allow the Authority to bring to light the still unregistered receptivity. The same procedure will be applied to recover the missing resources, deriving from the single patrimonial fee not collected by the companies that have obtained the concessions to carry out works and tampering with public land without paying the tax, such as the companies that have carried out interventions for the gas network.
