Thanks to the tried and tested “School-Work Alternation” training formula, what students have learned is now put into practice through the commitment and work experience of the lifeguard service.

The course for Lifeguards qualified for Bathing Supervision at sea, inland waters and swimming pools, took place in recent months and was organized by the ANMI of La Maddalena (National Association of Italian Sailors) in collaboration with the headmaster of the Giuseppe Garibaldi Higher Education Institute of La Maddalena, Stefano Satta, in collaboration with the Municipality and the commander of the MM Petty Officers School, Francesco Maffiola, as part of the 2024/2025 Italian School-Sailors Project, approved by the Navy General Staff.

At the end of the course, 16 students obtained the certificate, plus 2 of their teachers . With them, 8 Navy personnel, 2 Coast Guard personnel and 2 Local Police officers obtained the same certificate. The beach surveillance stations at sea were opened in La Maddalena in recent days, through the lifeguards of the Ledum Acqua Forma Association of La Maddalena, and of Sabrina Pinato's Italian Water Rescue Federation.
