Stadium and hospital in Cagliari, the area is a penalty: the Region and the Municipality cannot agree

Put the hospital, remove the stadium. Or viceversa. The "game" of joints is staged in Cagliari and the table is the one around which the leaders of the Municipality on one side and those of the Region on the other have gathered for the second time.

After the stalemate of a week ago, the new meeting was held today to try to find a (technical) synthesis on which to build the program agreement which, if approved, should release the regional 60 million destined for the new home of the Cagliari football. But the agreement, if possible, appears even more distant than on 20 June.

Location of today's confrontation, the office in viale Trento of the secretary general of the Region, Gabriella Massidda. The managers of Palazzo Bacaredda have a political mandate: the Municipality wants to build the stadium in Sant'Elia. And it is on this that the services conference that must approve the project presented by the rossoblù club will work from next July 3rd.

But the regulation of the match, which they adhere to in the Region, is written in article 11 of the regional Finance law. He predicts that Villa Devoto will give the money if and when the master plan takes shape which, in addition to the "Gigi Riva" (at least the name has already been decided), also includes the new hospital, student housing and new offices in Viale Trieste.

So here are the destinies of (more or less) public works that intertwine. Because if the stadium goes to Sant'Elia, where is the hospital area demanded by the Region? Today the municipal technicians brought about fifteen proposals. None, however, was welcomed by the "colleagues" of viale Trento.

Because the hospital of the future, so far only thought of, will have to develop horizontally and, according to what transpires, about fifty hectares are needed to build it. And all the areas that have been discussed are much more restricted. Furthermore, the intention is not to carry out expropriations or to spend even a single cent to have the land.

Sant'Elia, at the moment, would be the only space with all the requirements. Except that of the municipal ok. Outcome of the meeting: see you again next week.
