The link corrects the healthcare reform in favor of the local health authorities. Yesterday the Chamber approved an amendment which, in practice, binds the centralized function of Ares regarding competitions to the definition of suffering indices for each local health authority. Not only that: while waiting for the competitions, the companies themselves will be able to independently activate fixed-term selections to fill the vacant positions.

The parameters

The most important innovation introduced yesterday are the indices: an organic plant is not in pain if it is covered between eighty and one hundred percent; it is deficient if it is between eighty and fifty percent covered, seriously deficient below fifty percent. The modification proposal is from the Council but was also shared by the opposition because - explained Daniele Cocco (Redoverde Alliance) - «it introduces the indices of suffering for which Ares is obliged to carry out competitions primarily for those territories and health facilities in serious deficiency organic".

The case

Also in the Chamber yesterday was the case of the radiotherapy patient in Nuoro who was advised, in the last line of the medical certificate, to be treated outside. "A very serious fact because the message has been conveyed that to get treatment you have to go outside the Region", reiterated Health Councilor Carlo Doria in the Chamber, "and it is not right to denigrate the doctors and operators who remained in Sardinia to work".
