The man, represented by lawyer Pierluigi Carta, stated during the hearing that he reacted angrily when his ex-girlfriend and her friend showed up at his home to complain about the damage done to his car . Shortly before, the 36-year-old had slashed the tires with a knife after the woman decided to leave him . Upon leaving the apartment, he railed against his ex-girlfriend, violently attacking her, repeatedly kicking and punching her because he believed her to be responsible for the end of their relationship. Both were taken to the emergency room of the Sassari Civil Hospital.

The friend who fared the worst was the one who suffered some trauma to her face and the loss of four teeth .

They had met on Facebook, but after a few months, she decided the relationship couldn't continue. A summary trial was ordered on January 23rd, with terms for the defense requested by the man's lawyer.
