Two servers that went down due to a hacker attack are giving the Sorso Municipality's IT system a hard time.

The block occurred last Monday during a failed backup, due to a virus that encrypted the public administration's data.

In the meantime, hackers have come forward and, via an email written in English, have asked for a ransom to restore the service.

"The attack compromised the data contained in two servers, one inside the town hall and another in the building that houses the municipal police - explains the president of the city council Francesco Sechi - and in both two access keys were introduced with a combination that blocks everything. The IT technicians of a specialized company in Sassari are trying to decrypt the two servers to recover the files and then proceed with a cleanup. The situation, however, remains serious".

In the meantime, a complaint has been filed with the postal police.

There are many inconveniences in the face of a situation that paralyzes the administrative machine and the release of documents and the production of administrative acts.
