Revocation of the bathing ban on four of the five beaches on the Sorso coast. Following the new samples taken by Arpas, on August 22, the mayor of the Municipality of Sorso, Fabrizio Demelas, issued an ordinance with which the ban on bathing on the beaches previously affected by an out-of-regulation detected on August 21 is cancelled.

The beaches where it is once again permitted to take a dip and where the values have returned well within the reference limits set by current legislation are the beaches of Li Nibari, La Foce, Porchile and La Pagliastra.

The restrictions remain in force in the Pedramincina area, a 1,592-meter long stretch, where the values are not yet compliant with the standards, and for which a new sampling is planned for Monday 26 August.

The ordinance was made necessary by the spills into the sea of the Rio Pedrugnanu, where the wastewater from the Sorso-Sennori consortium purifier flowed. The heavy downpour of the last few days would have dragged the debris to various points of the sea.
