Soleminis: seven hectares of olive trees, vineyards, a reed bed and scrubs are on fire

The reclamation of the area (about eight hectares), devastated by the fire in the countryside between Soleminis and Settimo San Pietro , was completed late yesterday evening.

The flames reduced seven hectares of land to ashes , attacking olive trees, a vineyard, a vast reed bed and Mediterranean scrub. It took four hours to contain and extinguish the fire.

A helicopter taken off from Villasalto, the firefighters, the forestry workers of Sant'Andrea Frius and Dolianova, the Saf of Sant'Andrea Frius, the Masise of Sinnai have been mobilized.

It is not excluded that the fire was arson and that it was started in several parts. Investigations are underway.
