An urgent socio-health conference "to address the serious state of precariousness of the San Francesco hospital ", whose problems are "getting worse". The request is made by the mayor of Nuoro Andrea Soddu, who turns to the commissioner of the Province Costantino Tidu .

Soddu is calling for an immediate solution, in particular to the lack of staff in the Orthopedics department, where on 8 March the Local Health Authority decreed a stop to new admissions . But the lack of staff is a problem that affects many other departments, practically all of them: from Hematology to the transfusion centre, from Oncology to Paediatrics .

«Despite unlikely rankings that place San Francesco among the top 130 national hospitals - says Soddu -, the people of Nuoro clash every day with reality, made up of patients forced to move out of the city due to a banal fracture . Not to mention the never-resolved problems of those who have to undergo cancer treatment, who are also often forced to go elsewhere."

The mayor then points the finger at the waiting lists, "not worthy of a civilized country ". And he asks for interventions on the workforce: "The healthcare staff is exhausted due to exhausting shifts due to the lack of personnel."

All problems, he concludes, "that we have been denouncing for years but are still unresolved, if not worsened."
