The balance of a crossing to the coasts of Sardinia is very heavy.

Seven migrants have lost their lives: six of them fell into the sea because the small boat, tracked down by a merchant ship that was heading from Turkey to Spain in international waters, capsized due to the bad sea conditions .

Another migrant, according to the story of seven other survivors, died during the journey from the Algerian coast to Sardinia .

Searches are currently underway by the Coast Guard with an aircraft that took off from Catania .

The seven survivors rescued from the merchant vessel were accompanied as far as the Gulf of Palmas , then transferred aboard the Sant'Antioco Coast Guard patrol boat to the Sulcis port where the agents of the Sant'Antioco Finance Police and the Carbonia police station assisted by Frontex staff.
