The Brotzu remains without air conditioning, with cooling only being provided in the operating rooms. The announcement came during the scorching afternoon from the hospital's management: according to what was reported, the cause of the outage is a "fault in one of the refrigeration units serving the San Michele," which everyone refers to as the Brotzu. The hope is that the problem can be resolved overnight.
"The chilled water production capacity is currently limited and insufficient to ensure normal cooling for the entire facility," the statement reads. "The technical service, with the support of the company awarded the maintenance contract, is already working urgently on the diagnosis and repair of the affected refrigeration unit, with the aim of restoring the system's optimal operating conditions as quickly as possible."
To ensure continuous cooling in the most critical areas, "the technical department has communicated that it has been necessary to temporarily deactivate the power supply to the building's fan coils, reserving the production of chilled water for the operating blocks in operation and other priority areas."
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the statement continues, "the system is expected to reboot approximately around midnight today."
It is recalled that the ventilators purchased during the previous emergency are available.
