Work has resumed in Sinnai on the renovation of the façade and bell tower of the parish church of Santa Barbara . The Curia's project was funded by the CEI with €205,000.

Work has resumed with the removal of the tiles from the bell tower dome and the waterproofing of the dome, which will be re-clad with new tiles. The goal is to prevent the old water infiltration. The entire bell tower will not be plastered as was done in the past, and will therefore be restored to its original splendor.

Work is now underway on the entire façade, after the initial phase of the project involved removing the travertine to eliminate the dampness that had built up over time . Work will also be done to eliminate the dampness inside the church's vault and to repair the bell tower, with work aimed at preventing rainwater infiltration that is damaging an internal chapel.

During the first phase of the work, an ancient, damaged rose window was discovered on the façade. "In a few days," says the parish priest, Father Gabriele Biccai, "we will have a visit from technicians from the Superintendency. The idea, of course, is to recover the entire rose window, reconstructing the missing portion. This will be a true restoration project, overseen by the Superintendency itself. This work will therefore be visible to all from the square."

To date, all planned and completed works have received approval from the Superintendency. The funding provided by the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI) is €205,000. The work will undoubtedly continue for several more months. In the meantime, funding is awaited for the renovation of the church square and the adjacent square of the old Town Hall.
