The funeral of Anna Carla Corda , the 46-year-old who died in circumstances yet to be clarified in the late evening of 9 September in the clinics of the local medical guard, will be celebrated on Wednesday 21 September , at 6 pm, in the church of San Giorgio di Siliqua .

The Cagliari prosecutor has opened an investigation into the causes of death .

RECONSTRUCTION - The woman, who since 2020 suffered from pulmonary embolism and was being treated with anticoagulant-based therapy , on 25 August - as explained by the lawyers appointed by the family - had been " admitted to the gynecology and obstetrics department of the hospital Brotzu of Cagliari due to metrorrhagia, an abnormal uterine bleeding , and after the appropriate treatment she was discharged in the afternoon of 9 September , although the last blood tests she had undergone had revealed values almost double the recommended limits (those of 5 September) and more than double (examinations of 8 September) of the D-Dimer, responsible for the formation of thrombi in the blood: therefore, an alarming indicator of a possible thromboembolytic event, which unfortunately would have occurred a few hours later ".

In the throes of increasingly serious breathing difficulties, the 46-year-old, accompanied by her husband, at 11.15 on the same 9 September tried to go to the outpatient clinics of the Siliqua medical guard , where she nevertheless arrived " unconscious and, despite all the resuscitation maneuvers attempted first by the doctor on duty and then by the 118 health workers, there was nothing more to do for her ”.

It was the Vallermosa carabinieri , who intervened immediately on the spot, to report the fact to the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office who opened a criminal case , at the moment against unknown persons, through the Public Prosecutor Andrea Vacca, who ordered the autopsy on the victim's body.

The autopsy examination was carried out on 12 September at the medical-legal institute of the Policlinico di Monserrato: the expert opinion of the Ctu will be decisive in establishing with certainty the causes of death and verifying any responsibility on the part of the health professionals who treated the patient at the Brotzu, and therefore to give the necessary answers to the family.

THE APPEAL OF THE FAMILIES - The husband Marco, who saw Anna die in his arms, the daughter Angela and the mother Marisa forcefully ask that full light be made of the facts : they want to understand if the discharge from the hospital has been corrected and if by intervening in time on the probable pulmonary embolism that killed her, the woman could be saved.

The judicial authority, having completed the non-repeatable investigations, gave the authorization for the burial.
