The sister of Davide Calvia, the 38-year-old from Sassari missing for 10 days in the Gulf of Asinara and found dead on Saturday morning on the coast of Castelsardo , cannot rest.

"Those who knew you - Nadia writes today on Facebook in a page dedicated to her brother - know that you had a big heart". And today, he continues, «I want to promise you that I will do you justice… if it were the last thing I will do! Because we all need to know why it happened like this ».

A story, that of the sinking of the boat on which the 38-year-old was , which still has many obscure points to clarify and for which Giovannino Pinna, the 35-year-old diver from Sassari who was on board together with his cousin Davide and who survived, is currently under investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Sassari. The charge is of culpable shipwreck and risks from one to five years in prison.

"My client is still sick, both physically and psychologically," said Pinna's defense attorney, Luca Barrocu. «He is in shock and as soon as he gets better he will be available to the investigators to clarify any aspect of the accident. He has already provided the carabinieri with a version of the facts, but is available to answer further questions.

THE RECONSTRUCTION – On the evening of 12 April, Pinna and Calvia were going on a sport fishing trip in the Gulf of Asinara , in the stretch of sea between Stintino and Porto Torres. The two cousins, while their boat was sinking, had launched the SOS and then disappeared into the sea. Pinna was found 24 hours later on a beach in Marritza , in Marina di Sorso, in critical condition, while Calvia's body was found ten days after the shipwreck .

Pinna has already been heard only informally the day after hospitalization but his memories were too confused .

THE AUTOPSY – On Monday, April 24, the coroner Salvatore Lorenzoni performed an autopsy on the body of the 38-year-old . The " presence of multiple traumas " has been detected, on the origin of which, however, there is currently no certainty. We certainly know that after being at the mercy of the sea for ten days, between waves and rocks, when he was found last Saturday, Davide Calvia was unrecognizable. So much so that family members identified him only by tattoos.

To understand whether the 38-year-old died of drowning or polytrauma, we will have to wait for the final results of the autopsy, which will be delivered to the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office by June . The coroner Francesco Lubinu, appointed by the lawyer of the Calvia family, Marco Palmieri, also took part in the examination.

THE INVESTIGATIONSThe Port Authority and the Carabinieri of Porto Torres are investigating the incident. Investigators are also examining the theft of a boat that was moored at the port of Porto Torres , which disappeared on the afternoon of April 12 and whose owner reported the theft the following day.

The carabinieri seized the images recorded by some video surveillance cameras in the port, to look for useful elements. One of the hypotheses that the investigators are verifying is that the boat that disappeared from the wharf could be the vessel stolen and used by the two castaways and then sunk in the Gulf of Asinara for causes that are currently unknown . Boat that has never been found.
