Entrepreneur Mario Ragnedda has reacted harshly to his wife's accusation of mistreatment. Nicolina Giagheddu has filed a serious complaint that will be examined by the Tempio Prosecutor's Office. Ragnedda and Giagheddu are the parents of Emanuele Ragnedda, currently in prison for the murder of Cinzia Pinna. Mario Ragnedda's lawyers (Gabriele Satta, Luca Montella, and Giuseppe Mocci) are evaluating legal action to protect the Arzachena businessman.
Meanwhile, Mario Ragnedda's lawyers have stated this: "Despite full awareness of the falsity, gravity, and ferocity of the accusations, Mario Ragnedda's prevailing feeling is one of profound and infinite sadness: the sadness of a gentle man who has dedicated his entire life, his work, and countless sacrifices to his family, his wife, and his son, Emanuele. The description provided and the facts recounted by Mrs. Giagheddu are the product of pure invention and a serious distortion of reality. Anyone familiar with Mr. Ragnedda's private, working, and professional life can attest to his peaceful nature, his constant kindness, and his gentle nature."
One of the most damaging passages in the statement is this: "On the contrary, the facts paint a completely different picture: over the years, Mrs. Giagheddu has engaged in aggressive, threatening, and abusive behavior, even in front of witnesses, directed not only at her husband but also at her son. Mr. Ragnedda's reaction to these comments has always been an embarrassed and painful silence. The real motivations driving Mrs. Giagheddu to make these statements today are unclear: however, economic reasons cannot be ruled out, linked to large sums of money stolen from her husband and the fear of due and necessary protection and reinstatement actions. The tragic and painful events involving her son would have required in anyone a sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and respect for justice; instead, we are witnessing a frantic pursuit of prominence in the press and on social media."
The statement concludes: "Mario Ragnedda reiterates his faith in the judiciary to ensure that justice takes its course and that truth prevails over any fabrication. At the same time, he reserves the right to sue Ms. Giagheddu for slander and defamation, as well as anyone else who believes they are spreading and/or commenting on the falsehoods she writes and disseminates by any means against her."
The statements of Nicolina Giagheddu (assisted by lawyers Angela Corda and Lia Deiana), the content of her complaint, and, similarly, the claims of Mario Ragnedda are personal and have not yet been examined by the judiciary.
