A forty-year-old from Pompeii, unemployed and with previous charges against, and a 22-year-old Pakistani resident in Naples were reported to San Gavino Monreale for aggravated fraud.

The provision at the end of an investigation carried out by the local police station following the complaint presented by a 28-year-old local.

According to what was reconstructed, the two criminals had sent apparently credible messages from the Italian Post Office to the young woman's cellphone from a user in the name of a Pakistani (probably a figurehead), where they were asked to enter their login credentials after opening a specific link, in order to solve problems of usability of the postal current account. Naively and without further investigations at the San Gavino post office, the 28-year-old replied, seeing the sum of 6,800 euros disappear from the account.

The carabinieri managed to identify the perpetrators of the fraud by verifying the holders of the current account into which the extorted money flowed.
