For over a decade, residents of Via Emilio Lussu, in Sestu, have been living with a health and hygiene emergency caused by the leakage of sewage that floods the street .

A chronic situation, reported since 2012 to the Municipality, ASL and Abbanoa, without obtaining definitive solutions. « The only response – reports Andrea Bernardini, resident – was a protocol from the Municipality. From Abbanoa, however, no concrete feedback».
The inconvenience, residents explain, does not only occur during the rains. "When we call to report it," adds Bernardini, "they blame the rain and the inadequate network. But the sewage also comes out on sunny days, like last Saturday. All the sewage ends up in land that was previously cultivated, but because of these recurring problems the land is no longer exploited."
Alessandra Puzzoni, who has been at the forefront of the complaint for years, speaks of an unsustainable situation: «To enter the house we have to walk on improvised platforms. The street fills up with toilet paper and waste. It's a disgrace» . Even the condominium courtyards are compromised: «The external pressure does not allow the relief valves to open, so the internal line fills up and floods the courtyard with sewage».
Exasperated, residents announce new actions: "We are ready to turn to the Carabinieri of the NOE, the ASL of Cagliari and the Forestry Corps. We can no longer live like this."
