Sestu, elderly man who died suffocated by pasta: tragic fatality, no investigation

The body of Gesuino Angioni who died in a bar on the old Carlo Felice, in the Sestu area, has been returned to his family.

The elderly man, 81 years old, had stopped in the restaurant to have a short breakfast: he ordered a pasta as he has done several times. So, contrary to what initially emerged, Angioni was not in the restaurant for lunch.

Suddenly the food bolus blocked his airway, making any intervention by the rescuers futile.

A tragic fatality, with the investigation immediately closed by the magistrate after the report sent to the Prosecutor's Office by the Sestu carabinieri, who intervened on site. It was not even necessary to resort to a necropsy report.

The funeral will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 21 May, at 4.30 pm in the cemetery chapel in Sestu.
