Alcohol for children under 14 and music after hours allowed. To end up in trouble, following a check by the local police, a well-known bar in the center of Sassari .

On Saturday night, the officers arrived at the club after receiving a report and immediately noticed five kids sitting at a table, serving themselves beer from a three and a half liter dispenser. The occasion, they explained, was the birthday of a very young girl in the group. Asked for general information, they discovered that two were 14 years old, two were 15, as was the birthday girl.

The parents of the minors were immediately called: some showed up at the bar, others will go today to the headquarters in via Carlo Felice with their children.

On the other hand, the consequences for the club manager, which could also be criminal, are serious. For the administration of alcohol to minors, national legislation provides for a fine of between 250 and 1,000 euros. In the event of recurrence, a fine ranging from 500 to 2,000 euros is applied, with suspension of the activity for three months.

The prohibition concerns minors under the age of 18, over sixteen, while the administration of alcohol to minors under the age of 16 is criminally sanctioned by article 689.

Over the weekend there were numerous checks by local police officers, even in civilian clothes, on clubs, bars, shops and supermarkets aimed in particular at stemming, explains the Command, "the increasingly worrying phenomenon of the sale of alcohol to minors. Often they start from the reports of the citizens themselves and after some checks, at the first opportunity, they proceed by catching the offenders in the act". On this occasion, it is recalled that "those who serve or sell alcohol, whether they are bars or shops, have the obligation to ask young people for documents to make sure they are of age".
