A 53-year-old man was arrested in Selargius by the police for an attempted theft .

Having appeared before the judge for the validation hearing, he was released from prison after the defense deadlines requested by his lawyer. After the hearing the suspect returned home without any precautionary measures pending trial.

A policeman off duty noticed the man wandering among parked cars on a street in Selargius. He would have noticed him while he was trying to force open some doors on the driver's side, finally managing to get inside a small car.

At the same time, the policeman, having requested the intervention of a patrol, reached the man who was tampering with the ignition system. The 53-year-old was thus blocked and arrested: he was also found in possession of a switchblade.
