The road was reopened at 5.38pm after legal investigations carried out by the local police of Selargius who intervened with several men and after the removal of the large trolley which had overturned and occupied the road.

The accident occurred at 3pm with the SUV driven by a German, resident in Sardinia, and a Mercedes. The two vehicles grazed each other from the side, the undercarriage of the SUV overturned on the ramp which, from 131 Dir, leads to 554. This was enough to cause traffic to go haywire on 554, towards Quartu, which was then closed by the local police. and with traffic diverted for over two hours onto other roads.

The firefighters intervened on site with the local police of Selargius and removed the trolley, clearing the road and allowing the reopening of the 554. None of the occupants of the Sub and the Mercedes were injured.
