Two in-flight emergencies and two returns to Fiumicino Airport in a single day for the Aeroitalia plane bound for Cagliari. In both cases, the flight was reversed just minutes after takeoff.

The last one during the night was a flight that was supposed to reach Cagliari at 11:20 PM. It took off at 10:50 PM, reached 11,000 meters, and then turned back, though it's unclear whether it was due to another malfunction. Angry passengers arose on board, and then some were grounded.

The first emergency return to Leonardo Da Vinci occurred in the afternoon : pressurization problems were detected on board . The flight, which had taken off from Rome at 1:30 PM, had only had its wheels off the ground a few minutes earlier and was reaching cruising altitude of 11,000 feet when it suddenly began a steep descent to below 5,000 feet. Shortly thereafter, the pilot reversed course and headed back toward Italy. After completing a few orbits north of Leonardo Da Vinci, the aircraft then headed for the runway at Rome's airport, where it touched down shortly thereafter, at 1:49 PM.

The primary cause of the flight's return to Fiumicino was the detection of a cabin depressurization, which forced the pilot to return to base to ensure the safety of the passengers. In a statement, the airline confirmed "an anomaly in the pressurization system." The emergency landing, Aeroitalia said, "occurred smoothly and completely safely for the 106 passengers and crew. Furthermore, the passengers were assisted and re-protected on the subsequent flight to Cagliari."

In the meantime, the flight scheduled to land in Elmas at 6:30 PM has also been cancelled. All connections should be guaranteed by territorial continuity.
