Three cell phones, two transformers, three USB cables, and small quantities of hashish were found yesterday morning, November 3, in Uta prison, during a routine search carried out by prison police in two cells.

The news was announced by Donato Capece, general secretary of the autonomous penitentiary police union (Sappe), and Luca Fais, national secretary of Sappe for Sardinia, who expressed their praise for the officers of the Cagliari institute "for the professionalism, investigative skills and high sense of duty demonstrated in their service activities."

"The discovery of cell phones, their power supplies, and narcotics confirms the importance of maintaining high levels of vigilance within prisons. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the men and women of the Uta prison police, who once again demonstrated professionalism, investigative skills, and a high level of institutional responsibility," Capece and Fais stated.

The complexity of the Cagliari prison "and the daily challenges that characterize its services do not prevent the staff from distinguishing themselves through their competence, dedication, and spirit of sacrifice. Indeed, precisely in this particularly challenging operational context , the value of the prison police emerges once again, as they perform a delicate and crucial role for the security of the entire system."
