Bad surprise around the corner for Sardinian families. With the start of school just around the corner and the end of the holidays approaching, it turns out that each student will spend an average of 24 euros more than last year on books , with an increase of around 3 euros for each individual text.

The data is from the latest study by the Coordination of Sardinia school and club council presidents.

«Multiplied for each discipline, it has a significant impact on the family budget - they explain - which often has to meet the needs of several children of school age, in a historical period in which the cost of living is an increasingly tight grip. Furthermore, we witness the frequent practice of changing the edition of the texts, without this corresponding to a real modification of the contents , but rather to simple remodulations of the layout and of the numerical order of the exercises present».

According to the principals, it is necessary "to restore the ministerial consultation table on the adoption of textbooks, which has not been convened for 15 years", it is also necessary that "identical tables are convened at a territorial level".

Furthermore, one could " envisage the possibility of discharging the expenditure incurred for textbooks when filing the tax return ".
