With a blow from the tail, the Draghi government resurrects the Gomoretta wind farm (between Bitti, Orune and Buddusò) which two years ago had been rejected by the technical commission for environmental assessment of the Ministry of the Environment (now of the ecological transition).

The council of ministers, in the last session, blessed the project presented by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Italy Spa, which involves the installation of 13 wind turbines (132 meters in diameter, only the rotor) for a total power of 45 Megawatts: the shovels will be - or should arise - between Bitti and Orune. The substation will be in Buddusò.

A disfigurement for the local community, which has always been against the plant.

"We learn with great amazement the decision of the Council of Ministers, in fact now deprived of full political legitimacy", attacks the mayor of Bitti , Giuseppe Ciccolini, who speaks of "a structure unwanted by the territory and which will jeopardize the Italy's candidacy in the race for the assignment of the headquarters of the Einstein Telescope project, one of the most important scientific research programs in the world ”.

According to the mayor, "the wind farm must not be built, also because the owners of the land, where the blades would be placed, are firmly opposed to the intervention".

The project will not have an easy time: "We will barricade this decision from above, which does not protect the interests of our communities, which instead aspire and look towards other directions of economic and social growth".

Ciccolini then took up the theme of the Einstein Telescope project: "The territories surrounding the Sos Enattos mine in Lula", candidate sites to host the gravitational wave study plant, worth a billion and a half, "need to be the environmental and above all acoustic specificity of the area, the real strength of the Sardinian candidacy, is protected. What is certain is that the noise produced by mega wind turbines and turbines would go in the opposite direction to that required by the scientific world for their research ".

Only five days ago the ministry had rejected the proposal for a wind farm, also in the territory of Bitti, but in the locality of Mamone (here the news): blades more than 220 meters high were planned.
