During the pandemic, requests for help from citizens in Sardinia for disservices, scams, deceptions and problems with companies and operators active in the region increased enormously.

The data emerge from the last congress of Adiconsum Sardinia, during which the members of the Regional Presidency of the association were elected and which carried out a specific survey to understand what are the main critical issues that haunt the citizens of Sardinia and how they are changed user requests for help during the pandemic.

"In the two-year period 2020-2021 Adiconsum recorded a total of over 66 thousand reports by telephone or email from the citizens of Sardinia, with a strong growth of 20% compared to the pre-Covid period", explains the president Giorgio Vargiu. In particular, "4,470 citizens were received by the association's offices in the regional territory, for a protection activity that has given rise in these two years to over 8 thousand cases, 1,488 conciliation procedures, 178 exposed to the authorities and well 4 class actions and 2 injunctions for unfair commercial practices ".

At the top of the ranking of companies that have recorded the highest number of complaints and complaints from consumers in Sardinia "there is Abbanoa - explain from Adiconsum - a company that concentrates 32% of the reports received, but disservices are also growing strongly related to electricity and gas supplies (14% of the total), those related to health (13%), problems with transport companies (9%) and disputes in the renewable energy sector (6%).

On the other hand, there was a decrease in reports relating to tax authorities, taxes and local authorities, sectors that occupy the last places in the ranking.

"The numbers that emerged from the report certify how inefficiencies to the detriment of consumers in Sardinia intensified during the pandemic and problems between citizens and operators grew, but also scams and deception attempts", explains Vargiu. "At the same time, it has increased. the protection of our branches in the region, demonstrating the growing consumer awareness on the part of Sardinian users ".
