Sometimes they come back. But in the case of the Rizzeddu-Monserrato neighborhood in Sassari, the wild boars never actually left.

The mammals' nightly incursions into the area between Rockefeller, London, and Moscow streets have become a daily occurrence, attacking garbage bins, taking out bags of garbage, and scattering it on the ground. While initially a hilarious diversion, residents, represented by the neighborhood committee, are now reporting that the situation has become dire and people are starting to feel fearful.

"I leave for work at 4 a.m.," a resident reports, "and I found them there yesterday too. Besides thwarting the door-to-door campaign, what's to say they won't attack sooner or later?"

There are several specimens, occupying not only the aforementioned area, but also the area in front of the INPS (National Institute of Social Security) and near the Carabinieri barracks. The problem affects other areas of Sassari, from the Prunizzedda and Monte Rosello Alto neighborhoods to Luna e Sole, and the roundabout in front of the Civic Market, where wild boars now graze in packs.
