Some passersby who saw the boy on the ground also called for help. Because of the danger, the intersection of Via Vico and Via Manara is regulated by a double stop sign, but people often drive through without stopping or yielding right of way.

Double stop signs had been installed in several areas of the city to reduce speed. A similar accident occurred in recent days, with several injuries, at the intersection with Via Principessa Yolanda, also regulated by double stop signs.
