A plan to reduce waiting lists to allow all patients in northern Sardinia to receive adequate care. The project, starting in ASL n. 1 of Sassari - implementing a recent resolution adopted by the regional council on the proposal of the Health Councilor Carlo Doria - aims to reduce the "queues" of outpatient specialist medicine in the various offices of the district.
As Doria explains, «an increase in the opening hours of specialist clinics , both local and hospital, has been foreseen, beyond their usual ordinary hours. At the same time, within the CUP system (single booking centre), new dedicated agendas will be created, which will allow greater flexibility and a concrete increase in the capacity to provide services and achieve a progressive alignment of the times for providing services rendered. in an institutional context at the average time of those made under the intra-moenia freelance regime".
The outpatient facilities involved are those of the health districts of Sassari, Alghero and Ozieri. Included in the increase in hours are various specialties, including allergology, cardiology, surgery, dermatology, ultrasound, electromyography, endocrinology, physiatry, gastroenterology, gynecology, sports medicine, neurology, child neuropsychiatry, ophthalmology, dentistry, orthopaedics, ENT, pulmonology, rheumatology and urology.
