Sassari, the landfill grows along the roadside of the "Due Mari"

On the side of the provincial road 42, a huge illegal landfill appears along the “Due Mari” road, in the Sassari area on the border with Alghero.

A pile of special waste at the edge of the roadway, for months now visible to motorists and cyclists who travel that stretch at moderate speed and are able to observe the serious phenomenon of landfills in the buffer zones of the roads.

Located near the roundabout on the border with the municipality of Alghero, it is an example of the inconsiderate gestures of road users who throw garbage bags out the window, or stop there at night to deposit all sorts of material.

The landfill disfigures the image of nearby areas belonging to residents who have repeatedly reported the havoc and the environmental emergency situation, which has remained ignored until now. They are asking to clean up the area and to place photo traps such as to make those responsible for the serious violations easily identifiable.

Generally a tidy and kept clean space works as a deterrent against even dirty people. In fact, their inconsiderate gesture would not have any kind of alibi as often happens in the presence of so much stratified and illegally abandoned waste.
